    How that distant thunder

    How that distant thunder

    Has now become a deafening

    Roar

Once so far in the distance

    Has suddenly washed ashore

    How that distant thunder

    No longer seems a friend

    Now encroaches upon our

    Lives

    This thing from which we

    Defend

    How that distant thunder

    Yesterday was in our dreams

    Now just pure reality and

    Drowning out our screams
